The TWEKO IKFS Diagonal spray booth is an energy-efficient industrial solution for professional coating and drying of vehicles and large products. The key feature of the series is its diagonal airflow pattern, which provides the required air velocity inside the working area at a lower overall ventilation capacity.
This airflow concept reduces energy consumption and operating costs compared with conventional systems of similar purpose. IKFS Diagonal is installed directly on a level floor without underground air ducts or a dedicated foundation, simplifying installation and allowing the booth to be relocated to another production area when required.
Applications
- Automotive service and body repair shops
- Heavy trucks and trailers
- Construction and special-purpose machinery
- Agricultural machinery
- Large steel structures
- Industrial products made of metal and other materials
Diagonal Airflow
Air moves diagonally through the working area. This airflow pattern allows the required air velocity to be achieved during painting with a lower total air volume.
- Reduced ventilation capacity requirements
- Lower electrical and thermal energy consumption
- Reduced operating costs
- Effective removal of paint overspray from the working area
Ventilation and Filtration
The supply system delivers filtered and heated air into the booth. Multi-stage EU5 filtration captures dust and fine contaminants before the air enters the working area.
Paint overspray is removed by the exhaust system and passes through dry two-stage EU3 filtration, including a cardboard labyrinth filter and a fiberglass Paint Stop filter.
Temperature Ranges
- Painting temperature: 16–24 °C
- Drying temperature: 20–80 °C
The required temperature is set by the operator from the control panel and automatically maintained according to the selected operating mode.
Operating Modes
- Painting: supply of filtered air and intensive removal of paint overspray
- Purge: removal of residual overspray and solvent vapours from the working area
- Drying: maintenance of the preset temperature and process time for coating drying
- Cooling: reduction of product and booth temperature after the drying cycle
Automation
- PLC programmable logic controller
- Automatic control of painting, purging, drying and cooling modes
- Variable-frequency drives or soft-start systems for ventilation equipment
- Temperature and operating-parameter monitoring
- Operator-friendly control panel
Construction and Equipment
- Installation on a level floor without a dedicated foundation
- No underground ventilation ducts required
- Vehicle or product access doors
- Separate personnel access door
- Energy-efficient LED lighting around the working area
- Possibility of dismantling and reinstalling the booth at another location
Main Benefits
- Energy efficiency: required air velocity is achieved with lower ventilation capacity
- Lower operating costs: reduced energy and maintenance requirements
- Easy installation: no foundation or underground air ducts required
- Relocatability: the booth can be dismantled and installed at another site
- Versatility: suitable for primers, paints, enamels, lacquers and water-based coatings
- Custom design: configuration can be tailored to the customer’s production process
Safety
- Construction made from non-combustible materials
- Explosion-protected fans and key ventilation components
- Automatic interlock prevents paint or compressed-air supply if ventilation stops
- Optional automatic fire suppression system
TWEKO IKFS Diagonal spray booths are engineered according to the requirements of each production site. Working-area dimensions, ventilation capacity, heating system, door configuration and automation level can be adapted to the customer’s process.
