TWEKO KASO series abrasive blasting chambers are industrial systems for removing corrosion, mill scale, old coatings and process contaminants from metal and other suitable surfaces. Each system combines an enclosed working chamber, mechanised abrasive recovery, automatic abrasive reclamation and a high-capacity dust-extraction system.
KASO chambers are engineered to suit the dimensions of the workpieces and the requirements of the production process. The closed-loop system automatically collects used abrasive, separates dust and contaminants, and returns reusable media to the blasting process without manual handling.
Applications
- Steel structures, beams and trusses
- Steel and cast-iron components
- Welded structures and large assemblies
- Frames, platforms and transport-equipment components
- Tanks and industrial equipment
- Surface preparation before painting and corrosion protection
- Removal of rust, mill scale and old coatings during repair work
Abrasive Blasting
Surface cleaning is performed using abrasive media propelled by compressed air through a blast pot and nozzle. The high-velocity abrasive stream removes rust, mill scale, old coatings and other contaminants from the workpiece surface.
Depending on the process requirements, the system can operate with different reusable abrasive media, including 0.5–1.0 mm steel or cast-iron shot, glass beads, aluminium oxide and other compatible media.
Closed-Loop Abrasive System
After impact, abrasive together with removed contaminants falls onto the chamber floor. The system then automatically collects, transports, cleans and returns reusable media to the blasting process.
- Recovery: scraper conveyors remove abrasive from the working area
- Lifting: a bucket elevator transfers the material to the separator
- Separation: dust, broken media and removed contaminants are separated from reusable abrasive
- Storage: reclaimed abrasive enters the storage hopper
- Reuse: clean abrasive is returned to the blast pot
This closed-loop arrangement reduces abrasive consumption, minimises manual clean-up and provides stable operation during repetitive blasting processes.
Scraper-Floor Recovery System
The chamber floor is equipped with modular scraper conveyors that automatically move spent abrasive toward the recovery system. Depending on chamber dimensions, the system can include 3 to 14 scraper modules.
- Mechanised abrasive recovery from the floor
- Reduced manual clean-up
- Modular configuration according to chamber size
- Floor gratings rated for loads up to 600 kg per wheel
Bucket Elevator and Separator
The bucket elevator raises recovered abrasive to the separator at a capacity of up to 6 t/h. The separator removes dust, contaminants and unusable particles before the reclaimed abrasive enters the storage hopper.
- Bucket-elevator capacity: up to 6 t/h
- Separator capacity: up to 6 t/h
- Abrasive hopper capacity: 0.7–1.1 m³
Dust Extraction and Air Filtration
The filtration and ventilation unit removes dusty air from the working chamber and maintains the airflow required during blasting. F9 cartridge filters capture fine dust, while an automatic compressed-air pulse-cleaning system regenerates the filter elements during operation.
- Dust-extraction capacity: 12,000–30,000 m³/h
- F9 cartridge filters
- Automatic compressed-air pulse cleaning
- Dust concentration in discharged air: up to 8 mg/m³
Working Chamber
The chamber has an enclosed steel structure with rubber protection on internal surfaces exposed to intensive abrasive rebound. This reduces wall wear and helps control abrasive ricochet.
- Internal working-area dimensions: from 5 × 4 × 3 m to 24 × 6 × 6 m
- Hinged access gates: from 3 × 2 m to 4 × 4 m
- Personnel access door: 800 × 2000 mm
- Protective rubber lining on internal surfaces
- Custom chamber dimensions according to workpiece size
Lighting
The working area is equipped with LED lighting providing an illumination level of at least 700 lux for visual inspection of the cleaned surface.
- Number of light fixtures depending on chamber size: 6–32
- T8 LED fixtures
- Uniform working-area illumination
Automated Control
- PLC-based control panel
- Monitoring of the main system components
- Process timer
- Operating-hours counter
- Pressure and operating-status indication
- Sequential control of recovery, reclamation and dust-extraction systems
