The MALDI-8020 mass spectrometer is a recent Shimadzu development. This compact device is designed in a desktop version. It is a linear MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer with high performance.
TrueClean™ is a patented technology of laser cleaning of the ionization source. The MALDI-8020 has wide-aperture ion optics, which minimizes the risk of contamination of the ionization source. In addition to this, the device has the function of automated laser cleaning of the ion optics elements TrueCleanTM – fast (< 10 min) cleaning based on UV radiation, which can be used for cleaning the electrode in-situ without breaking the vacuum.
targets Compatible with FlexiMass™ targets. FlexiMass™-DS disposable 48-position polymer targets with an individual barcode eliminate the risk of cross-contamination. FlexiMass™-SR reusable steel targets are a cost-effective, long-term solution.
Bar code scanner. Built-in barcode reader (patented) MALDI-8020 automatically scans the barcode during sample entry. An LED on the front panel shows when the barcode has been successfully read.
