Roundness
- The roundness measuring instrument is comparative to the exact center of rotation, the quantification of cross-sectional roundness is carried out by measuring the change of radius of the actual contour of the workpiece in a position at different angles to the center of rotation with a gauge.
- It is used to measure cross-sectional roundness and the alignment of internal rotation and external rotation and face runout, etc.
Measurement capabilities:
- Parameter: roundness, concentricity, coaxiality, parallelism, perpendicularity, flatness, single radial runout, single axial runout.
- Analytical capability: spectrum analysis, automatic gap/burr removal, waveform analysis.
- Roundness evaluation (4 methods): minimum zone method (MZC), least squares method (LSC), minimum circumscribed circle (MCC) and maximum inscribed circle (MIC).
