Setting up and checking the functionality of the equipment
The IRHD hardness measurement cycle and the contact of the indenter with the sample are controlled by software with load control using closed-loop strain gauges (AFFRI patent). This eliminates manual errors and the influence of external vibrations. With a single input, the tester automatically examines the sample, clamps it and displays the result.
The IRHD hardness tester eliminates the human factor, increasing the accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of measurements. O-rings can be easily checked using a special sample holder for each “OR” chord size in accordance with ASTM 1414 without the need for manual adjustments. Measurements are stored on the hard disk of the computer and analyzed for statistical processes.
